Samhain

When I work as a medium, I don't ask you to provide information about the person you're hoping to connect with. You don't need to tell me their name. You don't need to tell me your relationship. You don't need to tell me how they passed.

Instead, my job is to communicate what I receive and allow the person in Spirit to show us who they are. That can come through:

and other pieces of evidence before moving into whatever they wish to communicate.

Sometimes those details are deeply emotional. Sometimes they're incredibly ordinary. And sometimes they're funny.

Because evidential mediumship isn't only about proving that somebody died. It's about recognising the person who lived.

I communicate with Spirit throughout the year. I don't believe those we love suddenly become available to us for only one night.

But Samhain carries a long association with transition, death, ancestors and the unseen, and I think there is something beautiful about deliberately gathering together at this point in the seasonal cycle.

The evening isn't intended to be frightening or theatrical. It's an opportunity to acknowledge something much simpler: death changes the way we experience a relationship, but it doesn't erase the life, love and memories that created it. And from my own perspective as a medium, physical death doesn't necessarily mean the end of communication either.

So we'll gather. I'll open the connection. And we'll see who comes forward.
